DUDLEY - Lorraine F. (Moczadlo) Mackowiak, 84, of 64 West Main Street, died Monday, September 28, at UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester. Her husband of 50 years, Chester M. Mackowiak, died in 1997.
She leaves 2 sons, Daniel C. Mackowiak and his wife Maryann J. Mackowiak of Northborough and Richard G. Mackowiak and his wife Claire Q. Mackowiak of Eastford, CT; a daughter, Cynthia J. Pomeroy and her husband Glen H. Pomeroy of Shrewsbury; 5 grandchildren, Laura J. Fairbanks, Craig D. Mackowiak, Robert C. Mackowiak, Curtiss G. Pomeroy and Kendall M. Pomeroy; and a great grandson, Jonathan M. Fairbanks. Lorraine was tirelessly devoted to her family and to her family’s activities.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Albert and Frances A. (Braczyk) Moczadlo and was a lifelong resident of Dudley. She graduated from St. Joseph Elementary School in 1939 and from Bartlett High School in 1943.
Mrs. Mackowiak was a teller at the former Guaranty Bank and Trust Company for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, the Saint Anne Society and the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club, all of Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster. Lorraine was extremely proud of her Polish heritage.
The funeral will be held Saturday, October 3, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours will be from 4:30 to 8:00 PM Friday, October 2, in the funeral home.
