Lonergan and his wife Beth, of Clifton, VA, Cecily L. Cassum and her husband Riaz of Weston, MA and Elaine J. Lonergan of Westport, CT. Grandfather of Sean S. and Ethan F. Lonergan of Clifton, VA and Sophia H. and Zane R. Cassum of Weston, MA. Brother of Frank Lonergan of Seekonk, MA and of Edward Lonergan of Philadelphia, PA and the late Robert Lonergan. William Lonergan was a pioneer in the development of computers and worked with Burroughs Corp., Sperry Rand, RCA, and Xerox, among other companies. For the last 20 years, he was a partner with Oxford Partners, a venture capital firm in Stamford, CT. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in the Pacific theater during World War II. Funeral services private.
