Evalyn Stottlemire Peeples, age 93, passed from this life Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born August 14, 1916 in Littleton, West Virginia to Edwin and Lydia Berkhouse Stottlemire. Mrs. Evalyn was a member of O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 12 to 2 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS with Rev. John Stewart and Rev. Daniel Dickerson officiating. The committal will take place in Spring Creek Cemetery in Banner, MS with Rodney Ratliff, Bobby Price, Jeff Peeples, Gregory Davis, James Massey and Dylan Peeples serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Peeples is survived by three daughters, Lynda Peeples Ratliff, Judith Peeples Davis, and Gayle Peeples, all of Water Valley, MS; four sons, James E. Peeples, Jr. of Bartlett, TN, Donald A. Peeples of Water Valley, MS, Richard L. Peeples of Water Valley, MS and Michael V. Peeples of Troy, MI; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Peeples, Sr.; sister, Katherine Stottlemire; and Winfred Stottlemire.
