North Andover, MA- Anthony J. Rinaldo, 86, died Monday, September 28th at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover surrounded by those he loved.
Born on October 12, 1922 in Lawrence, Anthony was the son of Frank A. and Anna (Quartarone) Rinaldo. Mr. Rinaldo was a graduate of Lawrence High School class of 1940, and upon graduation enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country during WWII. He was the recipient of the American Area Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, the American Area Ribbon and the Victory Medal before being honorably discharged with the rank of Aviation Machinist’s Mate Second Class at war’s end.
For many years Mr. Rinaldo worked for as a machinist for Davis and Furber, AVCO and Western electric where he retired from in 1983.
Anthony was a member of the Methuen Council #4027 Knights of Columbus, and was a past Grand Knight in 1974. Anthony’s favorite hobbies included gardening, wood working, cooking and spending time with his family.
The widower of the late Anne Rinaldo, Anthony is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorothy R. (LaPlante) Barbin- Rinaldo, his daughter MaryAnn Theberge of VT, 2 step-sons, Kenneth Barbin and his wife Denise of Pelham, NH and Thomas Barbin of Andover. His is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Christopher Barbin and his wife Michelle, Kelly Deluca and her husband Mark, Michael and Catherine Barbin and Nicholas and Lauren Theberge, as well as great-grandchildren Matthew and Jillian Deluca and Jackson Barbin, and one brother Fred Rinaldo and his wife Selma.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen on Wednesday September 30th at 11Am. At Mr. Rinaldo’s request there will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen.
