HUDSON, NH- George L. Hoare, Jr., 70, a resident of Hudson, NH, and former Errol, NH, and Lowell resident, died Thursday, September 25th at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Shirley A. (McOsker) Hoare, who died in 2002.
He was born in Lowell on February 4, 1939, and he was a son of the late George L. Hoare, Sr., and Frances M. (Chretien) Hoare. He received his education in Lowell schools.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Hoare, was employed as an offset pressman for 45 years by Prince Packaging which later became Americraft in Lowell.
He was firefighter on the Errol Volunteer Fire Department, prior to moving to his daughter Karen's home in Hudson, NH.
He was an avid sports fan throughout his life and in recent years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching Nascar. Earlier in his life he was a harness racer.
He is survived by two sons William L. Koren and his husband Chris of Concord Township, Ohio, and Daniel S. McOsker and his wife Debbie of Hudson, NH; three daughters, Karen A. Brunelle and her husband Michael of Hudson, NH, Lynn F. Flynn and her husband Thomas of Chelmsford, and Tammy A. Freni and her husband Joseph of Hudson, NH; eight grandchildren, Adam and Nicole Brunelle, Stephanie and Andrew Freni, Meghan and Erin Flynn, and Ryan and Jacoby McOsker; a brother, John B. Hoare of Errol, NH; a sister, Frances Licciardiello and her husband Connie of NJ; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 2 until 6 PM. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment in Edson Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.
