Manuel Peter Dias, age 89, of Somerset, passed away September 26, 2009 at home. He was the husband of Olivia (Pereira) Dias and son of the late Peter and Emily (Medeiros) Dias. Mr. Dias currently worked as a Landscaper at the Truesdale Clinic & Surgi-Center. Previously he worked as a Sewing Machine Operator for the former Anderson Little Co. for 33 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, having served in the European Theater. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, & gardening.
Besides his wife of Somerset, he is survived by his son Daniel Dias of Somerset, a brother: Marianno Dias of Tiverton, and a sister: Sarah Baldaia of Fall River, and several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late John Dias & Mary Oliveira.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. WEDNESDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas More Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours TUESDAY 4-8 P.M.
