Obituary

John A. Cloney, 71, of Penacook, died September 26, 2009 at Pleasant View Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
He was born in Bangor, ME on April 18, 1938, the son of Raymond Cloney and Rubie (Tracy) Nason. He attended Bakersville Grammar School and Manchester High School Central. He served in the US Air Force.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed as a foreman for Denron Plumbing & HVAC in Manchester for 20 years.
John loved wood-working projects and spending time outside. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and will be remembered as the loving heart and soul of his family.
Members of his family include his wife of 50 years, Rita (Audet) Cloney of Penacook; two sons, Richard and Gary Cloney, both of Roanoke, VA; three daughters, Sandra R. Smith and her husband Scott of Manchester, Jodie L. Courtenay and her husband Darryl of Henniker, Kelly A. Davis and her husband Henry Jr. of Goffstown; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michael, Katie, Jonathan, Patrick, Justin, Emma, Thomas, Abigail, and Benjamin; two great-grandchildren, Alexia and Christian; one sister, Carol R. Rogers and her husband L. Wayne Rogers of Penacook; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson Dennis.
A funeral service was held Monday, September 28, 3009 in the funeral home chapel. After cremation, urn burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
