Silas L. “Poppy” Peace, 74, husband of Barbara Clark Peace, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009.
He had served in the U.S. Army and had spent many years as a supervisor at International Harvester before beginning his own construction companies. He was a noteworthy builder of miniature dollhouses, having been showcased in numerous magazines and television programs.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara; his children, Mike Peace (Debbie), Don Peace (Beth), Susan Vigil, Angela Willhite (Mike, who was Pop’s best friend), Robin Atzinger (Matt) and Michelle Uhl (Neil); his grandson, Chris, with whom he shared a very special and close bond; other beloved grandchildren, Jason, Brad, Amelia, Marissa, John, Makayla, Gabby, Amanda, Nick, Noah, Alexis, Courtney, Cassidy, Patrick and Nick; great-grandchildren, Lily, Aiden and, Pop’s girl, Hallie; and, beloved brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Betty Clark.
Funeral services will be 8 pm Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm Sunday.
