WORCESTER-Ann E. (Needham) Coleman, 74, of Worcester, died Thursday, September 24th in the Millbury Healthcare Center. She leaves four sons, Michael K. Coleman of Auburn, Thomas J. Coleman and his wife Kim of Charlton, and John F. and Paul C. Coleman, both of Worcester; three daughters, Mary C. Lussier of Sturbridge, Ann E. Coleman of Worcester and Kathleen M. Murphy and her husband Joseph of Holden; ten grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Two brothers, John “Jack” Needham and Msgr. Thomas J. Needham and two sisters, Mary Hoey and Julia Needham, predeceased her.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Worcester, the daughter of Thomas J. and Catherine A. (O’Malley) Needham. She was a graduate of Ascension High School. Mrs. Coleman was an operator and administrative assistant for New England Telephone and Bell Atlantic until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Coleman enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and bowling and was an avid New England sports fan. She also enjoyed her daily number- 9-9-7-9, trips to the casino and eating at Herbie’s-everything well, well done!
The funeral is Monday, September 28th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at Noon in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, September 27th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Our Lady of the Angels School for the new playground, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
