Worcester--Elizabeth Marion (Supernor) LaMarche, 95, formerly of Indiana St. died on September 21, 2009 at Notre Dame LTCC where she was lovingly cared for, for 6 years.
Her husband of 72 years, Ernest E. LaMarche died in 2006, and her son Robert E. LaMarche of Atlantic Highlands and Monmouth, NJ. Died in 2005.
Elizabeth (Betty) leaves a daughter, Corinne E. Frier of Beaverton, OR; 3 grandchildren; Jennifer Ducharme of Beaverton, OR, Craig Ducharme of Glendale, AZ Michelle Oh of Portland, OR and two great grandchildren; Lauren Ducharme and Marcus Oh. She also leaves her sister, Pearl Fanning of Worcester, nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was born in Worcester on June 15, 1914 daughter of Victor V. Supernor and Emily Deviou. She was predeceased by siblings, Ralph Supernor of Worcester, Corinne Bush of Silver Springs, FL, Amy Brier of Worcester, Caroline Scribner of Claremont, NH, Melvin Supernor of Worcester, Harold Supernor of FL & Worcester and Helen Paradise of Northboro.
Mrs. LaMarche was an honor student at Commerce High school leaving after 2 years to help support her family. She was married to Ernest on November 11, 1933. She later worked as a part-time bindery specialist at Asa Bartlett Press and was an active member of the YMCA’s TOPS Program.
Elizabeth had a quick wit with an amazing sense of humor which carried her through many challenging times. Elizabeth leaves her family with fond memories of close family gatherings, her beautiful singing voice and many wonderful recipes. She was a lovely lady and much fun to be with. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, 559 Plantation Street, on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. Following the memorial service, friends and family may gather at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, for the funeral procession to Hope Cemetery, where Elizabeth will be laid to rest beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
