Leonard D. Pagnotto, 85 of Walpole and formerly of Medfield and Taunton, died September 21 in Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the husband of the late Irene (Lacerte) Pagnotto, who died in 1980.
Born in Fitchburg, September 28, 1923 the son of the late Domenic and Rose (Ruberti) Pagnotto, Leonard was raised in Fitchburg and had lived in Taunton and Medfield for many years prior to moving to Walpole two years ago.
Mr. Pagnotto graduated from Clark University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science and received a Master of Science from Northeastern University in 1970.
Mr. Pagnotto worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years and retired as Director of the Division of Occupational Hygiene. Following retirement from the Commonwealth, he operated his own consulting firm for many years.
Mr. Pagnotto served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He enjoyed reading, traveling and woodworking.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet Bibinski and her husband Joseph of Westford and Cynthia Ellard and her husband Robert of Medfield, his sister Mary Robichaud of Leominster, and his brother Alphonse of Fitchburg.
He is also survived by five grandchildren: Sarah, Bobby, Stephen, Michael, and Kate.
His funeral will be held on Monday September 28 from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. Walpole at 9:15, followed by a funeral mass in St. Edward’s Church Medfield at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Fitchburg at 3:00 p.m.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 5-8.
