Angelina “Mary” (Pesa) Casieri, 86 years of Brockton formerly of Avon, died Tuesday September 22, 2009 at the Goddard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Louis Casieri. Mary was born and raised in Avon, a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Annie (Gennaco) Pesa. She had been a resident of Brockton for 61 years and a graduate of Avon High School Class of 1940. Mary had been a self employed housekeeper and seamstress. During WW II she was a seamstress working for the Shawmut Mills in Stoughton proudly making parachutes for the military. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, baby sitting and was an avid bowler for more than 40 years. She had been a long time communicant of St. Edward Church.
She is survived by three sons, Louis M. Casieri of CA; Mark Joseph Casieri and Christopher J. Casieri both of Brockton; two brothers, Joseph L. Pesa, Jr. of Florida and John F. Pesa, Sr. and his wife Jean of Bourne; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9am. Burial in St. Michael Cemetery, Avon. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7pm.
