WORCESTER__John Sobiech, 55, of Worcester, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave.
He leaves two sons, Anthony J. and Jeffrey J. Sobeich, a daughter, Marina Sobiech, all of Worcester; the mother of his children, Dawn (Morin) Sobiech, two brothers, Casimir R. Sobiech and his wife, Bozena of Worcester; Stanley S. Sobiech and his wife Jolanta, of Oxford; a sister, Jasia Chmielewski and her fiancée, James Abano of Oakham and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Cierzpieta, Poland, a son of Boleslaw and Wladyslawa (Szczubelek) Sobiech and immigrated to the United States in 1966.
Mr. Sobiech was a molder 35 years for Norton Co., Saint-Gobain Co. before retiring. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the PNI Club, and a was a member and past president of the PNA Club. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and mushroom picking. He was a very loving father to his three children. John was a kind hearted man who was loved by many. He frequently volunteered to cook for non-profit organizations.
The family wishes to thank the staff members of Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the kindness and care given to John.
The funeral will be held on Friday, September 25, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
