Obituary

Erica A. McDougal, 36 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Saturday Sept. 19, at Brigham’s and Woman’s Hospital following a courageous battle with leukemia surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Lowell on June 15, 1973, she was a daughter of Ruby (Williams) McDougal who survives her and the late William Lawrence. Erica attended Lowell schools and was a 1991 graduate of Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical School. She received and Associates Degree from Middlesex Community College and attended Salem State College. Erica then attended the Blaine School of Hair Design and received her license in Cosmetology.
Erica currently worked as a hair stylist at Fantastic Sam’s in Wilmington and prior to that at J.C. Penny’s in Nashua. She was always the life of the party and with her friends and family enjoyed life to the fullest.
In addition to her mother Ruby of Lowell, she is survived by her two children Myracol and her brother Destin Mastropiertro of Lowell; her loving companion, Anthony Mastropiertro; three brothers, Floyd McDougal of Lowell, David and Michelle McDougal of N.H. and Willie and Lucy McDougal of Lowell; six sisters, Glenda and Donald Williams, Carolyn and Turk Settles, Nancy McDougal, Rosie and Joe McGillicudy, Tasha and J.R. McDougal all of Lowell and Brenda McDougal of Hudson, MA; two step-brothers, James Lawrence of N.C. and Tiant Durham of Lowell; her aunts, Christine, Frances, Lilly and Annie; her uncle Jim, thirty nieces and nephews, twenty one great nieces and nephews and many cousins; her children’s grandparents, Carmen III and Doreen Mastropiertro and her dear friends, Mary C. Brady, Martin Huq, Kasey Marion, Crissy Moore, Amber Bacon, Naomi Everett, Amy Provas and Jacqueline Neal.
McDougal- Friends any call on Thursday Sept. 24, from 4 until 8 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST. (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Service will be held Friday at 10:00 am in the Funeral Home. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery. Erica is at peace. She traveled thirty-six years to return to the comfort of the arms of the Lord. Donations in her memory may be made to The Sickle Cell Foundation Support Group, Inc., 3695-F Cascade Road #2193, Atlanta, Georiga, 30311. Arrangements are by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, LOWELL.
