Charlton,Joan M.(Loughlin)Heeney,78,formerly of Meadow View Apts.,in Charlton, passed away,Saturday,September 19,2009 in St.Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
Her first husband,Alden Paine died in 1989.
She leaves behind four children,Stephen E. Paine and his significant other Christine Strand of San Francisco,CA.,Jeffrey T. Paine and his wife Judith Masters Paine of Somerville,Jean M. Russell and her husband Edward of Charlton and Terry McGovern and his wife Jane of Oakland,CA.
She also leaves 4 grandchildren and 1 great grand-daughter,3 brothers,Thomas Loughlin of Salem,N.H.,William Loughlin of Billerica,and Peter Loughlin of Maine,and one sister,Nancy Fairfield of Maine,and many nieces and nephews.
Joan was born in Worcester,daughter of Walter J. and Eleanor M.(Hosmer)Loughlin.
She worked as a telephone switchboard operator at the former Rutland Hgts.Hospital
She enjoyed ,knitting,reading,arts and crafts, and watching her grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.
A Funeral Mass for Joan will be Friday,September 25,2009 at 10 AM at St.Joseph's Church,10 H-Putnam Rd.,Ext.in Charlton.Burial will be in West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton.
The family asks that flowers be omitted.
The Robert J.Miller-Charlton Funeral Home,175 Old Worcester Rd.is assisting Joan's family with arrangements.
