Marcel Carpentier, 72, of Pine Orchard Road, Chepachet, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Landmark Hospital with his family beside him. He was the loving husband of Vivian I. (Vadeboncoeur) Carpentier, with whom he celebrated a 48th wedding anniversary on September 2nd.
Born in Woonsocket, he was preceded in death by his father Anatole and mother Cora (Armstrong) Carpentier, as well as four siblings: Solange L. Laliberte, Joseph Philippe Carpentier, Simone C. Lefort, and Lucien G. Carpentier.
He is survived by his four children: Elaine A. Carpentier of Chepachet, Theresa C. DuBois of North Providence, Catherine J. Marcoccio of Burriville, and Marc R. Carpentier of Brooklyn, NY. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three siblings; Paul Andre Carpentier, Rita M. Ducharme, and Rev. Robert A. Carpentier, all of Woonsocket.
Marcel proudly served his country in the USAF for 28 years before retiring in 1982 as a Master Sergeant, and moving his family to Chepachet. He was an avid reader who enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandchildren.
At his request, he was cremated. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 23rd between 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Funeral Thursday, September 24th at 10:00AM from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Eugene Church, 1247 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, immediately followed by interment at Acotes Field Cemetery.
