Mary Benjamin (Levine)died on September 20, 2009 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home. She was 90 years old. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Benjamin. Mary was the devoted mother of Eileen Benjamin.
Mary was born in Lithuania and lived most of her life in the West End. She was a homemaker and kept active by dancing, swimming, walking and biking. Mary was also a nanny and a part-time model. Mary was chosen as one of the 350 Jubilee Bostonians by Mayor Kevin H. White. She volunteered with U.S. veterans and received recognition for her volunteerism by the National Jewish Welfare Board.
Graveside services at Sharon Memorial Park, Dedham St., Sharon on Wednesday, September 23rd at 11:45 AM. Memorial observance will be private. Contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home Foundation, 17 Lafayette Avenue, Chelsea, MA 02150.
