Anna “Anita” Sardano, passed away Sunday morning at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, following a lengthy illness. The wife of the late Cosimo Sardano. She was ninety-one years old.
Born in Argentina, she was raised and educated in Italy. She loved to knit, and owned her own clothing store in Monopoli, Italy before setteling in the United States in 1964. Anita adored her grandchildren, enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and knitting.
She is survived by her daughter Maria Cernigliaro, her two grandsons; Vincent and Massimo Cernigliaro all of Woburn. Her sister Maria Tarantino of Italy and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her late husband Cosimo, her sister Rosa Petrosillo, a brother Michael Brescia and a sister in law Anna Sardano.
Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Wednesday, August 20, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 100 Washington st. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with burialat Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
