Obituary

Richard “Dick” P. LaRoche, 79, passed away in UMass Medical Center Thursday, September 17, 2009. He leaves his wife, Nancy (Nylin) LaRoche; one son, David LaRoche and his wife Myong of Alabama; three daughters, Sandra Nunez and her husband John of Princeton, Mary Hopgood of NH, and Donna Courtemanche and her husband Darrell of Colorado; one brother, Robert LaRoche of FL; and three grandchildren, Casey and Jason Nunez and Sara Courtemanche. A sister, Dorothy Goyette, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Rachel (Mangsen) and Roland LaRoche. He graduated from Boys Trade School. Dick served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Norton Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Salem Covenant Church, Worcester, and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, 9/20, 5-8 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A committal service will be held Monday, 9/21, 9:30 a.m. at All Faiths Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service at Salem Covenant Church. Memorial donations may be made to the “Memorial Fund” of Salem Covenant Church, 215 E. Mountain St., Worcester MA 01606.
