LOWELL - Phyllis C. (Roberts) Doukszewicz, 90, passed away on September 16, 2009 in Lowell due to a lengthy battle with a blood disorder. She was the daughter of the late Mabel (Warner) and William Roberts. She was married to the late Edward Doukszewicz Sr. who predeceased her and they resided in Lowell, Chelmsford, West Yarmouth and she alone in Dracut before returning to Lowell.
Professionally, she worked at the Chin Lee Restaurant, CBS Electronics and Raytheon Company. She was an avid card player and bingo player and loved to go on cruises. she was a devoted mother of three sons, Edward Jr. and John (Jon Williams) who predeceased her and James, who survives her.
She was a loving and caring grandmother and she was blessed with three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; Debra St. Jean of Lowell (wife of David St. Jean, parents of David, Christopher, Matthew and Michael); Edward Doukszewicz III of Dracut (husband of Roberta Draper Doukszewicz, parents of Jennifer Doukszewicz Clark (mother of Ava) and Edward IV; William Doukszewicz of Dracut (husband of Christine Renaud Doukszewicz, parents of Kailey and Kelsey)
She was the sister of William, James, Lucius (Pat), John and Ralph Roberts, Mabel Thorburn, Bernice Dixon, Martha Bovill, Nellie Freitas, Olive Maille and Marilyn Andrews, all of whom have predeceased her.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well.
She greatly appreciated the kindness shown her during her life by Carol (Hire) Defrancesco, Martha Dupee, Ivan Yeaton, the staff of The Merrimack River Valley House and the staff of Willow Manor.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 2 until 6 PM. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne
