Obituary

Beverly: Alma A. (Beaulieu) age 102 died on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Bouchard with whom she had shared 50 years of marriage.

A life long resident of Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Michaud) Beaulieu. Mrs. Bouchard was a parishioner of the former St. Joseph Church in Salem and member of Les Dames de la Ste. Famille. One of her greatest joys in life was serving as the sacristan at St. Theresa’s Chapel for almost 40 years. She also did volunteer work at the St. Theresa Thrift Shop at St. Joseph Church.

Alma is survived by 5 sons, Ret. U.S. Air Force, Brigadier General, Philippe Bouchard and his wife Carol of Dayton, OH, Bertrand Bouchard and his wife Mary of York, ME, Andre Bouchard and his wife Maureen of Peabody, Raymond Bouchard, Jr. and his wife Mary of N. Ft. Myers, FL, John Bouchard and his wife Jeanne of Danvers, Alma also leaves her 3 sisters, Cecile Abodeely, Albertine ‘Betty’ Robinson, and Annette ‘Tibi’ Gagnon all of Salem, 2 sisters-in-law, Helen Bouchard of Michigan and Ruth Bouchard of Topsfield. Mrs. Bouchard was also blessed with a large extended family which included 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Therese LaMontagne and brother Lucien Beaulieu.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Visiting hours are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Food Pantry, P.O Box 876, Salem, MA 10970 or Landmark at Ocean View, Residents’ Fund, 3 Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915.
