Beverly: Maureen (Saffer) Marcotti age 49 died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael Marcotti who was her longtime husband, companion and fellow adventurer.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Alphonse J. Saffer of Peabody and the late Jean M. (Ouellette) Saffer. A graduate of Peabody High Class of ’77, Maureen worked at Osram Sylvania in Danvers from 1977 to 2001. She worked as an administrative support for the national sales manager of lighting products. Maureen also was employed by Dialog Corp. / Business Intelligent Services of Burlington from 2003 to 2007, where she provided project support and facilities management as well as supervisory responsibilities.
Maureen greatly enjoyed food and its preparation and was a very good cook. She also enjoyed, fishing, canoeing, nature and the great outdoors. She especially loved their cats Joey and Maria.
In Addition to her husband Michael and her father Alphonse Saffer and his companion, Joan Girard, she is survived by her brother Allan D. Saffer of Westboro and a niece, Ashley Saffer as well as many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 2 to 6 p.m. with a memorial vigil service will to take place at 5 p.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem.
