DOROTHY M. SMITHDorothy M. (Schade) Smith, 89, formerly of Harwich, Weston and Newton, died Fri Aug. 15, 2003 at Genesis Westford House in Westford.Born and raised in Newton she graduated from Newton High School. She moved to Weston in 1954 and worked for 17 years for the Weston School system as a bookkeeper in the school lunch program, and was also a member of the Weston Baptist Church. She later moved to Harwich and was a member of the Bayberry Quilters Guild in Brewster. She was also an avid gardener, loved wildflowers and bird watching and was regarded as a great cook.Wife of the late William J. Smith, she is survived by her sons George F. Smith of Nashua NH, William J. Smith of Antioch IL, and Carol S. Foster of Acton and her sister Florence Turner of Stoneham. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.A funeral service will be held on Wed Aug. 20 at 11 AM in the Newton Cemetery Chapel791 Walnut St. Newton Centre. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
