LAWLER John A. of Wellesley Hills died September 16, 2009 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband of 50 years of Julie Anne (Amersbach). Devoted father of John A. Lawler IV and his wife Susan of New Jersey, Amy S. Lawler and her husband Thomas O'Neill of Natick, Joseph M. Lawler and his wife Jane of Winchester, Martha M. Lawler and her husband Rick Ropelewski of Newton, Matthew J. Lawler and his wife Mara of New Jersey, Maura A. Lawler and her husband Abderrahim Karradi of Charlestown, and Christina Lawler McHugh and her husband John of Needham. Loving grandfather of 10 granddaughters and 7 grandsons. Brother of Margaret Stott of Oak Hill, VA, George E. Lawler of Riverdale, NY, and Mary Alicia McRae of Salinas, CA. He is also survived by countless friends.

Mr. Lawler had a long career in investment sales and fund management. Most recently President of Lawler Investment Company, previously opened and ran the Boston offices of McDonald & Co., and Wheat, First Securities, Inc. He began his career in Cleveland, OH with Pittston-Clinchfield Coal Company.
Graduate of Xavier High School, NYC (1952), and of College of the Holy Cross (1956). Devoted board member and supporter for over 30 years of St. Sebastian's School in Needham. Member of the President's Council of the College of the Holy Cross. Member of Woodland Golf Club, Auburndale. Accomplished cruciverbalist of the daily New York Times crossword puzzles.
