Lillian M. (Toole) Dolan, 91, formerly of Westport and Little Compton, RI, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Autumn Glen Assisted Living in Dartmouth. She was the devoted wife of the late Laurence E. Dolan.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late William and Catherine (O’Neil) Toole, she had lived in Westport since the early 50’s before moving to Little Compton in 1998. Prior to retirement, she was an elementary teacher in the Westport School System. She was a graduate of U Mass, Dartmouth. Lillian enjoyed the ocean, painting, sewing and traveling abroad. She was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
She will be remembered for the love that she gave, her strength and strong will, her wisdom and her keen sense of humor which always generated a smile or laugh from everyone she touched.
Survivors include a sister: Eileen L. Harrington and her husband John of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late William Toole, Joseph Toole, Mary Toole and Catherine Campbell.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, September 18, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
