BEVERLY: Lucille Critchett, 79, of Hannah Village, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Gloucester on May 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Arthur S. and Jennie (Fraser) Critchett. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School, where she received high honors and was a Sawyer Medal recipient. She has been a resident of Beverly for many years.
Lucille was employed as an advisory support services specialist for the I.B.M. Corp. in Boston for twenty-five years before her retirement. She had also once worked for several public utilities companies for several years.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Donald V. Kangas, Jr. and his wife, Emily of Kittery, ME, Dana W. Kangas and his partner, Suellen Helie of Gloucester, David Critchett and his wife, Helret of W. Warwick, RI, Norman Merrill and his wife, Jen of Mesa, AZ, Leslie DeParis of Sun City Center, FL and Jackie Medieros of Danvers, five grandnephews, Robin Delk, Lisa Kangas, Marc Critchett, Christopher Rich and Craig Rich and three great-grandnieces and nephews, Vanessa Lubonski, Josiah Bertolino and Kai Rich. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Burns and Helen Kangas, two brothers, Edwin and Dana Critchett, a special brother-in-law, Donald V. Kangas, Sr., a niece, Geraldine A. (Kangas) Rich and her husband, William F. Rich.
Her funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
