Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON____Kazys Adomavicius, 88, of West Boylston, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, Worcester. His wife of 36 years, Teresa (Ciginskas) Adomavicius died on May 2, 2009.

He leaves a Goddaughter, Christine “Tina” (Baltrukonis) Huchowski of South Grafton; a sister in Lithuania, a cousin in Maryland and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. He was born in Lithuania, a son of Jonas and Barbara (Karpavicius) Adomavicius and later lived in England before coming to Worcester in 1952.

Mr. Adomavicius was a machinist 25 years for Wyman Gordon Co., and retired many years ago. He was a member of St. Casimir Church, Worcester and was a member and served as president for 45 years and general manager for 15 years of Maironis Park, Shrewsbury before retiring in 2008. He was also a member of Knights of Lithuania, Council 26 and was a member of the former Lithuanian Naturalization and Social Club.

The funeral will be held Friday, Sept 18, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, Sept. 17 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Members of Knights of Lithuania will meet at 5:00 p.m. during calling hours to conduct their ritual.
