WORCESTER___Mary E. (Culhane) Paika, 83, of 36 Shaffner St., died Friday August 15 in her home.
Her husband of 59 years, Francis J. Paika, Sr., died May 4, 2000.
She leaves two sons, Francis J. Paika, Jr., of Worcester and Michael J. Paika of Shrewsbury; a brother, Maurice Culhane of Worcester; one grandson and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Annie (Hines) Culhane and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Paika was an accounting clerk for many years working at Heald Machine, then for Rice Barton Co., and later Thom McAn Co., retiring in 1985. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Mrs. Paika was a longtime member of St. Bernards Church and many years ago was a cub scout den mother.
A private committal service will be held Tuesday August 19 in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St. There are no calling hours. Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St. is directing arrangements.
