Obituary

Salem: Guillermo A. Melo, age 62 died at his home, Tuesday, September 15, 2009 surrounded by his family.

Born in the Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Ramon A. Melo and Ramona Acosta. While in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Melo was an elementary school teacher after receiving his degree in education. He moved to Salem to be with his family.

He is survived by his son, Guillermo Melo of the Dominican Republic, 4 daughters, Yanira Melo of the Dominican Republic, Nurys Melo of Beverly, Maria and Ana Melo both of Salem, 2 brothers, Leonel Melo & Rafael Acosta both of the Dominican Republic. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Larimar Tejada, Jaycab Reynoso, Lindsay Tebo and Mikela Melo, as well as a great-grandson Christopher Vargas.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Church St. Peabody (behind city hall). Visiting hours: Wednesday 4 to 6 p.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
