William Schultz age 70, husband of Ann Schultz of Meredith, NH formerly of Pelham & Derry, NH, died Sunday September 13, 2009 at his home in Meredith, after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born October 6, 1938 in New York City, NY, son of William Schultz of Margate, FL and Catherine Schultz (Deceased).
Bill was a graduate of Wm. L. Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ, class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1960. He received his BS in electrical engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in engineering management.
His most recent employment was by Lockheed Martin of Chelmsford, MA, as a senior electrical engineer. Bill was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hiking and boating in the NH lakes region. More than anything, Bill was the consummate family man, who loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Ann of 45 years; his son Bill Schultz, and his wife Jane of North Kingstown, RI; daughter Debbie (Schultz) Cox and her husband David of Acton, MA; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine, Victoria, and John Schultz, and Matthew and Laura Cox.
Bill was an active member of the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church for 44 years and was the president of the church council at one time. One of the many ways he donated his talents to the church was by building the cross that has hung in the sanctuary for 23 years. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church for the baptismal font that Bill had started to design, but was unable to construct.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1:30 PM at the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, 171 Zions Hill Road, Salem, NH.
