Virginia A. McDonnell, 85, passed away on September 13th, 2009 at the Lifecare Center in Stoneham. She was born in Boston on December 11th, 1923 to her parents Bernard and Gertrude (Corrigan) Lyman. Virginia was raised and educated in Roslindale. She has been a resident of Medford for the past 60 years. Virginia was a homemaker who cared for her family. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Mothers Club in Medford for several years. After her children were grown, she worked as a sales clerk at Cummings Department Store at the Meadow Glen Mall in Medford. She is survived by her husband Harold E. "Eddy" McDonnell and by her children, Jeanne Glionna and her husband Leonard of Medford, Susan Masci and her husband Frank of Foxborough and Michael McDonnell of Easthampton. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her daughter Mary Doldt. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday September 16th at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday September 15th from 4-7 PM.
