Obituary

Edna F. Donahue, 87 of Medford, died Sunday after a long illness in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA.

Born in Somerville, she lived in Medford for the past 84 years and was the daughter of the late Margaret (Williamson) and Daniel Sullivan. Edna was a Service Officer employed by the American Legion Boston for 30 years and retired in 1986. Edna was a WW II Army veteran from 1944 to 1947 as a nurse serving in England, France and Germany. Mrs. Donahue was a member of Somerville American Legion Post 19 where she was the first woman veteran to join. Edna also volunteer after her retirement at the Bedford Veterans’ Administration Hospital.

Beloved wife of the late John F. Devoted mother of Anne Mendieta of Medford and her late husband Carlos. Loving grandmother of Laura Alberino and her husband Rick of Medford, Anita Mendieta of AZ. Loving great grandmother of Savanna Mendieta, Samantha and David Alberino. Sister of the late Louise Harrington and Eleanor Sullivan.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8.

Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Edna’s name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
