Constance R. Lechman, 84, formerly of Chateau Clare, Woonsocket, died Wednesday at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Michael Lechman who died in 1975.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Florence (L’Esperance) Blanchette. She was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket until moving to St. Antoine in 2002.
Mrs. Lechman worked for Woonsocket Sponging for over 25 years before retiring in 1988. Constance enjoyed reading and expressing herself through decorative arts and crafts. He most cherished role in life was that of being a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean M. Ryan and her husband, Richard of Woonsocket, a granddaughter, Kelly Ryan of Woonsocket. She was the sister of Norman Blanchette, and his wife Bobbie, of Lakeville, MA. and the late Edward, and his wife Dorothy, Blanchette. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Sandra Phillips, David Blanchette, Michael Blanchette, and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday morning from 8:30-9:45 am in the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
