Nellie Allene Archer Leach, 82, of Tifton died Friday, September 11, 2009, at Tift Health Care. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Private services and burial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Leach was born on October 14, 1926 in Turner County and was the daughter of Walter A. Archer and Ola Mae Harris Archer, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Cecil Leach; three brothers, Stanley Archer, Winfield Archer and Raiford Archer; and one sister, Doris Archer Borwn. She was the manager of Springhill Country Club for approximately 38 years and was a lifetime resident of Tift County.
Mrs. Leach is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry Cecil and Sharon Leach of Atlanta, Willie Carl and Peggy Leach of Ohio and Michael Lee Leach of Atlanta; three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Ann Leach Buzzard of Albany, Glenda Diane Leach Whitehead of Tifton and Tami Elaine Leach King and her husband, Dan, of Tifton; one sister, Mary Archer Lightfoot of Tifton; five grandchildren, Christy Buzzard Stevens, Evie Buzzard Carver, Ware Bostick, Clint Whitehead and Adams King; and one great grandchild, Morgan H. Fox.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations by made to Hospice of Tiftarea.
