Obituary

William R. “Bill Rivers” Lariviere, Sr., 72 years, of Brockton died Wednesday September 9, 2009 at the New England Medical Center. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Rich) Lariviere for 50 years.
Bill was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Dorilda and Alfred Lariviere, Sr. and remained a lifelong resident of the city. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Marine Corps. In 1985 he retired from the Whitman Police Department after 11 years of service. For over 30 years he worked in the construction business where everyone knew him as Bill Rivers. During that time he gave many their introduction to the drywall trade. Bill enjoyed fishing, tinkering and trips to the casino.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children William Lariviere, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Brockton; Deborah Lariviere of Brockton; Denise Bohn and her husband Ronald, Jr. of East Bridgewater and Lisa Lariviere-Mohn and her husband Derek Mohn of Plymouth. He was the grandfather of William III, Matthew, Colleen, Elizabeth, Ronald III, Victoria, Alyson, and the late Brittaney and the great grandfather of Olivia. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and his four legged loving companion Jenna. He was the brother of the late Alfred Lariviere, Jr. and Lorraine Primavera.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish/St. Colman Church at 9 am. Burial in Wendell Cemetery, Holbrook. Visiting hours Monday 5-8 pm.
