Louisa Bryant Griffin, 90, of Ocilla, died Friday, September 11, 2009, at the Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral Services will be held 4:30 P.M., Sunday, September 13 at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with Rev. Donnie Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Griffin was born June 23, 1919 in Irwin County to the late Littleton Edward and Florence Christmas Bryant. She lived in Irwin County all of her life. Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker, farmer and former employee of Spicer’s Abattoir. She was a member of Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Betsy Giddens of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jennifer Walker of Ocilla, Scott (Stephanie) Griffin of Fitzgerald and Denise (Rick) Verheul of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren: Griffin Walker, Wright Walker, both of Ocilla and Jenna Griffin of Fitzgerald and a sister: Leoda Alsobrook of Moultrie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard S. Griffin, son, Richard Levy Griffin, brother, Edward Bryant and two sisters, Emma Lee Spicer and Lillian Boyd .
