WEBSTER – Andrew D. Lupa, age 89, died Tuesday, September 8, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center. His wife of 63 years, Irene F. (Govina) Lupa died August 19.
He leaves a son, Daniel E. Lupa and his wife Yvonne of Worcester; a daughter, Janice I. Cavanaugh and her husband Gregory of Virginia Beach, VA; 2 grandchildren, Dawn McHugh and Michael Lupa; 3 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Charlotte and Laura Lizak, both of Warren.
He was born and raised in Southbridge, the son of Joseph and Agnes (Ksiazek) Lupa. He lived in Worcester for 33 years before moving to Webster in 1978. He graduated from Cole Trade High School in Southbridge.
Mr. Lupa was a machinist at the American Optical Company in Southbridge and at John Bath Tool and Die in Worcester. He was a foreman at Papercraft in Worcester, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica.
The funeral will be held Saturday, September 12, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Saturday, September 12, in the funeral home.
