Obituary

John F. Graham, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Monday, September 7, 2009, at his home in Charlestown following a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. He was 76 years old.

John was born in Charlestown and grew up there all his life where he attended grammer school and graduated from Don Bosco High School in Boston in 1951. John worked as a truck driver for many years and was a member of The Teamsters Union Local # 25. He retired from A.P.A. Trucking in 1994. John served his country in the United States Army and was a member of The Irish American Club of Malden.

John is the beloved husband of the late Margaret K. (Doherty) Graham. He is the devoted father of Marirose A. Graham of Charlestown, Katherine A. Graham of Charlestown, John F. Graham and his wife Laurie of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, and James M. Graham and his wife Tracy of Pembroke. He is the loving grandfather of Charles E. Graham, Colin S., Caitlyn M., Liam P. and Meghan C. Graham. He is the beloved brother of Mary Spagnolo of Melrose and the late Joseph and William Graham.

John's Funeral will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren Street, Charlestown, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be Thursday, September 10, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
