Obituary

Grace W. Hedstrom, 75, of Auburn, NH, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Mrs. Hedstrom was born in Enfield, NH on June 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Theodore and Margaurette Lovering. She was a resident of Auburn for the past five years, formerly living in Enfield. Mrs. Hedstrom was employed as a registered nurse for Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA as well as for the Salem School District. She was an avid quilter, a member of the Hannah Duston Quilt Guild and volunteered making quilts for Quilts of Valor. Mrs. Hedstrom was a member and volunteer at the Longmeadow Congregational Church in Auburn, and a volunteer at the Griffin Public Library in Auburn. She also enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Hedstrom of Auburn, and Mark Hedstrom and wife Susan of Auburn; two daughters, Deborah Kule and husband Alan of Salem, NH, and Barbara Lehmann and husband Donald of Tenn.; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her brother, Lloyd Lovering of Georgia. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Hedstrom, Jr.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11:00am in the Longmeadow Congregational Church, 4 Wilsons Crossing Rd., Auburn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 814 Elm Street, Suite 300, Manchester, NH 03101 or to the Longmeadow Congregational Church, 4 Wilsons Crossing Rd., Auburn, NH 03032. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling the arrangements.
