Grace W. Hedstrom, 75, of Auburn, NH, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Mrs. Hedstrom was born in Enfield, NH on June 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Theodore and Margaurette Lovering. She was a resident of Auburn for the past five years, formerly living in Enfield. Mrs. Hedstrom was employed as a registered nurse for Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA as well as for the Salem School District. She was an avid quilter, a member of the Hannah Duston Quilt Guild and volunteered making quilts for Quilts of Valor. Mrs. Hedstrom was a member and volunteer at the Longmeadow Congregational Church in Auburn, and a volunteer at the Griffin Public Library in Auburn. She also enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Hedstrom of Auburn, and Mark Hedstrom and wife Susan of Auburn; two daughters, Deborah Kule and husband Alan of Salem, NH, and Barbara Lehmann and husband Donald of Tenn.; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her brother, Lloyd Lovering of Georgia. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Hedstrom, Jr.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11:00am in the Longmeadow Congregational Church, 4 Wilsons Crossing Rd., Auburn. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling the arrangements.
