BERKLEY – Beatrice (Araujo) Gouvia, the wife of Anthony Gouvia, died at Brockton Hospital on Sept 7, 2009.
A resident of Berkley for many years, she was 83 years old.
Born in Rehoboth, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Silva) Araujo.
Educated in Rehoboth schools, she later worked for Swank, Inc. and the former AT&T.
Mrs. Gouvia loved reading the Bible and listening to gospel music.
Her grandchildren meant the world to her.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Robert A. Gouvia and his wife Brenda of E. Taunton and David A. Gouvia and his wife Joyce of Dighton; 3 brothers, Frank Araujo of MD, and John and Charles Araujo, both of FL; two sisters, Evelyn Ayala of CA and Joanne Rose and her husband John of Taunton; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late William Araujo.
Committal Services will be held at the MA National VA Cemetery, Bourne on Friday, Sept. 11th at 1:45 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Arrangements are by the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton.
