AMBROSE J. CLAUSAmbrose J. Claus, 82, of Needham who was a partner in the accounting firm of Ernst & Young until his retirement in 1979, died Wed Aug 13, 2003 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham Campus.Mr. Claus grew up in Roslindale and graduated from Boston English High School and received his Bachelors from Boston College in 1942 and his Law degree from Boston College Law School in 1955. He served as a pilot with the U. S. Navy during WW II and logged over 1200 hours in the Philippines and Marshall Islands. He was discharged as a Lieutenant. He had lived in Needham for the past 56 years and was had coached Little League for 15 years. He was Past President of the National Assoc. of Accountants, Past Secretary of Boston College Alumni Assoc., Past Chairman of the Estate Planning Board at Boston College, a member and former treasurer of Charles River Country Club in Newton, and a former Trustee of Emmanuel College in Boston.He is survived by his wife of 57 years Margaret (Condon) Claus, his children Patricia M. Keating and her husband John of Framingham, A. Michael Claus of E. Taunton, Mary Beth Claus Tobin and her husband Mark of Needham, and Robert J. Claus and his wife Marjorie of Needham; his grandchildren Kristin Keating, Michelle Keating Burstein, Kara Keating, Caitlin Claus, Danielle Claus, Jaclyn Claus, Melissa Beaudet, Joseph Beaudet, Stephanie Beaudet, James Tobin, Timothy Claus, Brian Claus, Daniel Claus, and Margaret Claus. He is also survived by his brother Harold Claus and his wife Betty of Wellesley.Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Sat Aug 16 at 10 AM and proceed to a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church Needham at 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Fri Aug 15 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM.In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Flynn Fund of Boston College in memory of Ambrose J.
