Donald Ray Fish, 50, of Derry died Wednesday August 13, 2003 at his home. He was born in Tucumcari, NM on November 28, 1952 the son of William and Loretta (Hutchens) Fish. He was raised in Alamogordo, NM and graduated in 1971 from Alamogordo High School. He served in the US Navy for 21 years in the avionics field and was a veteran of Vietnam, Grenada and Desert Storm. He was employed as a foreman with Mass Bay Commuter Rail in Boston, MA. He was a member of the VFW Post 1617 of Derry, the American Legion Post 27 of Londonderry and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Derry. He loved country music, dancing, computers, his friends and family and will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents of Alamogordo, NM, he is survived by his wife, Joan M. (Berg) Fish of Quincy, MA, two daughters, Katie Montoya and Jessica Fish both of Lawton, OK, two sons, John Montoya of Dallas, TX, David Fish of Lawton, Ok, five grandchildren, Anthony Montoya of Dallas, TX, Jerrica and Alexus Peacock, Cody Odum and Noah Fish all of Andalusia, AL. three sisters, Johnnie Mae Wallace and her husband Chris of Rio Rancho, NM, Connie Porter of Alamogordo, NM, Bonnie Gipson and her husband Kenneth of Alamogordo, NM, his half siblings, Lecarla Christian, Jelene Christian, Randy Christian and John Christian. Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin brother Ronald Jay Fish.
At his request, there will be no services in New Hampshire. Memorial services will be held with family and friends in New Mexico. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling local arrangements.
