Laura Evangeline Morrison Corlew, 85, Clarksville, died Monday, September 7, 2009, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1p.m. Friday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Charles Welchance officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 11 until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 12, 1924 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Bruce Lyle Morrison and Gladys Ussery Morrison. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randle Bruce Corlew, sisters, Betty Morrison, Geraldine Andrews, and Helen Latta; brothers, Lee Morrison, George Morrison, Bruce Dale Morrison, Edwin Morrison, and Howard Morrison. Survivors include three sons, Don Corlew, John Corlew, and Thomas "Bill" Corlew, all of Clarksville; two sisters, Rachel Cooney, Hartford, Conneticut; and Faye Gill, Clarksville; and four grandchildren, Stephen Corlew, Laura Corlew, Randy Corlew,and Joanna Corlew. Pallbearers will be Stephen Corlew, Randy Corlew, Christopher Howell, Michael Morrison, Bill Brown, Tim Traughber, and Harold Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Johnson, James Harmon, Harold Thompson, and Terry Byard.
