Obituary

EAST TAUNTON – Charles E. Dutra, Jr., the husband of Judy (Silvia) Dutra, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Sept. 6, 2009.
He was 75.
Born in E. Taunton, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Wilhelmina (Alcorn) Dutra.
Educated in Taunton schools, he later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
A highway maintenance man, Mr. Dutra worked for the City of Taunton Street Department for 19 years before retiring in 1994.
A communicant of Holy Family Church, and past president of the Holy Ghost Society of E. Taunton, he was a past member of the VFW Drum & Bugle Corp.
Mr. Dutra was an avid duckpin bowler, and competed in several Taunton and Middleboro area leagues for many years.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Jeffrey C. Dutra and his wife Victoria of Bradenton, FL; a brother, Carl Dutra of E. Taunton; three sisters, Thelma Tino, Mildred Simpson and Lorraine Costa, all of Taunton; two grandchildren, Ciarra Layton and Jozef Dutra, both of Bradenton, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Edward, Arthur, and Pauline Dutra.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Wednesday, Sept. 9th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 8th from 4 to 7 p.m.
