Marshall Quinton Carlton, 79, of Summerville, husband of Hazel Hatch Carlton, died Friday morning, September 4, 2009 at Hallmark Healthcare Center.
Funeral service will be held Monday, September 7, 2009 at 11:00 at Summerville Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville.
Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 Sunday evening.

Mr. Carlton was born February 2, 1930 in Thomasville, Georgia, son of the late Albert and Nannie Mae Carlton. He was a veteran in the United States Navy serving as Chief Petty Officer, E8. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, singing and loved people. He was a Mason, member of Gideons, and was a deacon at Summerville Baptist Church. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

Grandchildren: Heather Pulse of Middleton, TN, Adam N.L. Carlton of Iraq, Renee Martinez of Ft. Benning, GA
Great grandchildren: Jake Pulse, Shelby Pulse, Ian Pulse, Penny Martinez, Lilly Martinez and Wilhelmina Martinez. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Kenneth Carlton, Lyman Carlton and Turner Carlton, Thelma Roberts, Alvina Smith and Louida Glenn. He also had
several nieces and nephews.
