Hilgeman, Lois age 81 a resident of Teaneck as well as Long Beach Island died Sunday, August 29, 2009. Beloved daughter of the late Walter and Louise Hilgeman. Lois was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Teaneck. She was a dedicated Social Studies teacher at the Benjamin Franklin Junior High School for over 40 years, having retired in 1983. She was a member of the NJEA, NEA, and the TTEA. Lois was also a great lover of nature. She was an avid gardener, an advocate for Natural Conservation and Ecological Studies as well as a dog fancier. When not outside enjoying nature’s beauty, Lois could easily be found in her kitchen baking her famous treats to be delivered to her many friends or listening with great satisfaction to one of her favorite Opera Masterpieces. A memorial service in honor of Lois will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 2PM at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Teaneck. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 61 Church St., Teaneck, NJ 07666 or to the St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, PO Box 159, 575 Woodland Ave., Madison, NJ 07940.
