Eleanor C. (Cardillo) Caloggero, of Medford formerly of Cambridge, died unexpectedly Saturday at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 79.
Eleanor was born and raised in Cambridge, the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Micelli) Cardillo. A Medford resident for over 40 years, Eleanor was an active member of St. Clement Parish. She enjoyed a 36 year career with Prudential Insurance in Boston, where she worked as a supervisor. Eleanor was also a life member of the Maria Montessori Lodge, OSIA in Belmont. Most importantly, Eleanor was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and a woman who was a thoughtful friend to many.
The beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Caloggero, Sr., Eleanor was a cherished mother to
Joseph A. Caloggero, Jr. and his wife Christine, Michael A. Caloggero and his wife Dina all of Medford and the late Stephen S. Caloggero. She was a loving grandmother to Carla, Crystal, Allison, Stephen and loving great-grandmother to Jared. She was the dear sister of Carmen "Brother" Cardillo of Woburn, the late Sara, Peter, Pat, Clara, Carmella, Jenny and also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
