Germaine I. (Aubin) Silva, 81, of Marion died Thursday August 27, 2009 of natural causes after a long illness.
Born in West Warwick, RI, she resided in Mattapoisett and Marion for the past ten years and previously spent eight years in Martha's Vineyard.
Mrs. Silva retired after 25 years in administration with the Massachusetts Defenders Committee in New Bedford. She was an avid tennis player and bike rider. She was a member of the Unitarian Memorial Church in Fairhaven.
She was the beloved mother of Wendy Leclair of Marion, Jonathan Silva of Marion, and Christopher Silva of New York City, and the devoted grandmother of Jacqueline Leclair of Boston and Nicole Leclair of Marion. She also leaves her siblings, Edgar Aubin, CA; Roger Aubin, CA; Colette Ploy, North Kingston, RI, and Paul Aubin, NH.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Unitarian Memorial Church, 102 Green St., Fairhaven, MA and a reception will directly follow.
