Robert B. Fitts, 76, of 180 Washington St., Littleton died August 8, 2003 in the Littleton Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Laconia on December 1, 1926, the son of the late Samuel and Emelia (Begin) Fitts Sr.
He served in the Army for 21 years and fought in both World War II and Korea. He was the recipient of several battle stars and retired as a Sergeant in 1966.
He was employed as a machinist at NH Ballbearing and also at Scott & Williams Co.
Following the death of his wife Liselotte (Hittel) Fitts in 1979 he moved to Jefferson NH and resided there until relocating to Littleton in 1987.
Family members include six brothers, Warren Fitts of Babylon NY, Ernest Fitts of Belmont, Merrill Fitts of Belmont, Armand Fitts of Gilford, Donald Fitts of Sanbornton and Philip Fitts of Concord; many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service was held at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery Friday at 11 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor of Sacred Heart Church officiated.. The Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia assisted with arrangements.
