Obituary

Richard L. Gagnon, Sr., age 68, of Danvers, died Monday, August 24, 2009, at the Beverly Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Estelle M (Levesque) Gagnon, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Louis U. and Edna (Pariseau) Gagnon. Richard was a member of the Shriners and donated much of his time to the Shriners’ Burn Institute. He was also a Mason and member of the Amity Mosaic Lodge of Danvers, in addition to being an avid amateur radio operator.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa M. Gagnon and her fiancée David R. Chapman of Kittery, ME, his son, Richard L. Gagnon, Jr. and his wife Lindsay of Essex, 2 grandsons, Brady & Andrew Gagnon both of Essex. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Gagnon.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial mass on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10 a.m. At Richard’s request there will be no visiting hours.
